The challenge of a lifetime
A huge physical and mental challenge
From day one, the crew will be sleep-deprived, rowing two hours on, two hours off throughout day and night in an unrelenting effort to reach the Caribbean.
Rowing more than three million strokes with sores and blisters and possibly while seasick too, they’ll be cresting 30ft waves as they head into raging storms.
They’ll be sharing the sea with fantastic sea life, some larger than their boat. And throughout their quest, they’ll be seriously calory-depleted, surviving only on the rations they can carry with them.
Each crew member is already following a personalised training programme to up their strength, fitness and stamina in preparation for the row.
It takes a team to achieve goals like this
Every boat that rows the Atlantic needs a large extended team to make the row even remotely possible. Sea Change Atlantic are putting together a knowledgeable, experienced shore crew, to help with logistics and any on-water emergencies that may arise; as well as to handle the media and social media buzz that our crusade will attract.
The Atlantic Dash Event
Whilst billing itself as THE toughest endurance event, the Atlantic Dash’s sole aim is to introduce the adventure that is ocean rowing to new communities.
The Atlantic dash is a completely inclusive event. Their motto is “If you think you can’t, we think you can.”
Being the first or the fastest isn’t the aim in the Atlantic Dash. It’s all about the spirit of adventure. It’s about a group of people – diverse in background, ability, age and experience – coming together to achieve the same goal: to safely row across the Atlantic Ocean in a tiny ocean rowing boat!
It’s about broadening horizons. It’s about pushing boundaries. It’s about having fun.
It’s about achieving personal goals. And most of all it’s about raising money for charity.
Visit the Atlantic Dash website for more information on this incredible challenge.

“Good luck Adam, Barnaby, Maddie and Richard on your amazing challenge - The Atlantic Dash.
I only used to do 2,000 metre racing, so I take my hat off to you guys for attempting such an epic adventure and for such a great cause that affects us all. I have no doubt you will succeed. All the very best.”
Sir Steve Redgrave
Up to 30 metre waves
Previous attempts of the Atlantic crossing have encountered waves of nearly 100ft.
The crew will be tethered to the boat at all times during the row.
Sponsor our playlist
To either get us through the day or torture us for an hour every day, we are looking for people to sponsor a playlist.
Deep water swimming
In order to clean the bottom of the boat the crew will be swimming in water up to
9 kilometres deep!
No rest for the wicked
With nowhere to anchor until they arrive in Antigua the crew will row 24/7 for 60-80 days to complete the 3200 mile trip
Partners and Sponsors
Rowing the Atlantic is a costly endeavour. Our sponsors and partners in this endeavour will be helping us to purchase a special ocean-rowing boat, to equip it with all necessary safety and communication gear, and to ship it to the start line. In return for a host of benefits, our sponsors will be funding the row to the tune of £100-120,000.
